Double Treble was founded in 2025 by Tseng Yang, a Hmong-American pianist with a lifelong connection to music. He began learning piano at five years old and has performed for a variety of community events, local shows, celebrations, and was also part of his church band. Today, he still enjoys playing piano at small events and sharing his music with friends and family through social media.

Beyond music, Tseng has always had a strong passion for education as he’s tutored kids and young adults for years. From this experience, he realized that many students approached learning with stress and fear of failing to understand. This troubled him because learning should be fun, meaningful, and clear. He soon realized the same truth applies to music. The journey of learning and playing piano can be challenging, but also deeply rewarding. He believes learning music should never be feared as anyone can find their rhythm.

This defining realization inspired the name Double Treble — a play on word. It’s about transforming all the troubles of learning into joy, excitement, and confidence — a reminder that double negatives equal a positive! Double Treble was born to help every student achieve that passion in music.
